Les Farnum is running for State Representative District 33. A lifelong resident of Southwest Louisiana, Les will bring a record of hard work, community involvement and public service to the office.  He is a Republican with values that match those of the District he will represent. Les has the experience to serve our region on the state level.

  • Married to Karen (Rogers) Farnum for 41 years
  • Four children and three grandchildren
  • Longtime, active members of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church

Professional
  • 1980 graduate of Sowela Technical Institute; earned the IBEW Apprenticeship Training Certification
  • Over 43 years of experience in the engineering, maintenance and construction field
  • Currently employed by Power and Control Systems as Lake Charles Division Manager
  • Previously worked for Phillips as Electrical System Supervisor and for Sasol as Electrical Reliability Manager
  • Former small business owners; Les and Karen operated Southern Engraving & Monograms for 20 years

Community Service
  • Youth Sports Coach for over 20 years
  • First Elected to the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury (CPPJ) in 2008; currently in 3rd term
  • Elected CPPJ Vice President in 2010 and President in 2012
  • Served as Chairman of various committees on CPPJ over the past 11 years
  • Currently serve as CPPJ Budget Committee Chairperson
